PrevenTic® collars contain a medication
that when properly worn, migrates along the oil layer
of the skin, killing ticks on contact, and preventing
attachment of others. Fleas are not affected by
this collar.
This is the only known effective collar for external
parasite control at this time. In some cases,
additional measures need to be taken in order to control
ticks if an area is infested with them. Shampooing
and dipping on a weekly basis, treating the environment
the dog is in, and additional tick control medications
are sometimes necessary.
Multiple treatment measures to control the tick is
the best method for elimination of this parasite from
your dog.
