Interceptor® - This product is available as a
flavor tablet which the dog takes as a treat on a once
a month basis to prevent heartworms,
as well as some internal
parasites. It is safe to give in puppies 8
weeks and older. Interceptor is not available
for cats.
Less common than with Heartgard®
,there have been some reports of toxicity in Collies
and Collie/mix breed dogs using Interceptor®.
These reports are rare however, and usually occur at
a much higher dosage than what Interceptor® contains.
Check with your veterinarian for recommendations on
what's best for your pet.
