Pet Pharmacy:
Frontline® (Flea Control)

FrontlineŽ is applied topically directly onto your pet.  It comes as a spot on preparation supplied with a set of applicator tubes containing the medication, or as a spray on product.

Treatment with the spot on preparation consists of one tube emptied behind the neck, in-between the shoulder blades.  If the spray is chosen, a certain number of "pumps" with the spray applicator per pound is used all over the pet.

Application is done on a monthly basis for flea control in the cat, and for tick control in the cat and dog.  It can also be done once every 2-3 months for flea control in the dog.  The pet must not be bathed within 2 days prior to or 2 days after the application of FrontlineŽ. Once applied, bathing frequency does not affect the effectiveness of FrontlineŽ.

FrontlineŽ  works to migrate along the oil layer of the skin binding to the skin's oil layer and the skin glands.  It is not absorbed into the system.  Fleas coming into contact with FrontlineŽ are repelled from the pet, and then die as a result of the contact.  The flea does not need to bite the pet to be affected by FrontlineŽ.

This product works for both cats and dogs, puppies and kittens 8 weeks or older. If your pet is allergic to fleas, this product is a good choice for flea control.  Flea saliva is what pets are allergic to when bitten by the flea, and FrontlineŽ does prevent the fleas from biting your pet.

Check with your veterinarian for recommendations on what's best for your pet.
