This infection in the dog, can cause diarrhea.
Mainly seen in dogs grouped together (kennel, animal
shelter, dog show). Although not as severe an
infection in the intestinal tract as is Parvo
virus, corona can lead to significant diarrhea and
vomiting.
Diagnosis is by suspicion as there are no specific
tests for corona virus infection.
Treatment is supportive of the symptoms. Usually
involves fluid replacement and antibiotics. Most
cases respond and are cured.
Prevention is through avoiding group contact with your
dog, or through vaccination.
